                                ABOUT

The 2v2 game is the most played game of the online RISK 2 community. It's a time convenient game that can average between 45 to 90 minutes, and only requires 4 players. Be prepared to allow up to 2 hours spare time to play. To play ranked games, you must be registered with your username on the 2v2 ladder website. Be sure to check the game specific rules for this ladder, such as the boot rule. I will explain more on the general set up rules of the game and more on the ladder

                                                                                        HOSTING
Host of the game MUST have US version of the game, as opposed to the Euro version. Most established players have the U.S version anyways so if your new you might never notice or experience the difference when playing 2v2 games. The 2v2 ladder game set up was developed using the popular US version, using Classic mode set up (not Sametime).

                             MAP SETTING

2v2 settings are: No extra Links, random placement, ascending plus 1 card.

                            IN GAME RULES

The teams are ALWAYS 1 & 3 verse 2 & 4 on the map phase launch. This means the player 1st to play is partnered with the player 3rd to play.Random partners usually, but partners can also be pre-determined prior to game, maybe for tournamentpurposes, so just be prepared for a few re-launches if this is the case. This will be established before game launches. The only other time a game will be re-launched is if, any players random set up has instantly enabled him a continent bonus It's very rare, but it happens.Placement

All players MUST place at least 1 troop on every territory. After the random placement the map should show all 2's on every territory. This is what we call landmines. This landmine set up provides the extra challenge of trying to get a card. After the landmines, you can place anywhere you want. This is a good time to have a quick private chat with your partner on  where to strategically place. Remember it is a team game.

                           COURTESY

DON'T QUIT A GAME, OBVIOUSLY.DON'T ALT TAB OUT OF THE GAME.

This will cause the game to go out of sync. If you must ALT TAB out, let the other players know. Everyone should cease fire. The best time to do it is on the map screen witn no active game playing. Best to do it on your own turn. This way you know  that there will be no active play until you return.

DON'T SLOW ROLL. This is just irritating. Next thing you know, your opponent will do the same, or refuse to roll at all.The longest you should wait to roll is immediately after the attacker has rolled first.

LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT YOU ARE TAKING A BRB There could be a specific ladder rule implementaed for how long a player can take. Be sure to know before entering a game. If a  player has taken too long, that player may have fallen asleep. It happens, and can result in the same penalty as someone quitting

                      LADDER RULES

These following are the basic rules. (For game specific rules, visit the front page of the ladder)
The rules are not complicated at all. If you lose a game, immediately after the game, log in, and click REPORT LOSS. Enter
the names of your opponents and enter. That's it! The ladder will take care of the statistics and rankings. If you win, all you need
to do is check to see if your opponents reported. While you're there, you can check your standings.
Enjoy, and share this link to new Risk players.
